CHO SUBIN
subin's life wasn't always built on the little white lies she told. she had dreams just like anyone else did and a family that wanted nothing but the best for her, but cho subin had grown to want to do things her own way regardless. growing up, she went through school doing exactly what her parents wanted her to do - get good grades first and let everything else come after, they reminded her over and over again that the rewards would be greater. it was in her senior year of high school that subin finally found the breakthrough she'd been looking for; she'd spent seventeen years of her life not doing the things she wanted to do, but when she was approached by a scout from a modeling agency everything seemed to be coming together for her. the only problem was that she knew her parents would never go for it when she was so close to graduating with the possibility of making it into one of the best universities. and so she graduated, but not by her own ability. with a hard head on her shoulder, subin went on to accept the offers of modeling for a variety of small time magazines and used what little money she earned from those gigs to pay someone to do her work while she worked her way up the ladder to her dream. much to her own surprise, she was still accepted into seoul national university where her parents pushed her to major in international business so that she could explore the world, but subin already had her own plans of exploration set in motion.

kissing her parents and their dreams goodbye, subin took the next big step in her journey and moved out on her own to seoul where found a small, affordable apartment for herself while she continued her modeling job with nothing but a brighter future in sight. the jobs seemed to be getting better for her, she was living happily and carefree as someone her age should until that all came crashing down around her. the calls for jobs became less and less before they eventually stopped coming at all, leaving subin struggling to pay for her apartment. out of desperation and fear of having to face her parents, subin had turned to going on dates with older men who sought the company of someone younger to excite their married lives in exchange for money, but she'd grown bored of listening to old men try to talk their way under her clothes and turned more into a swindler than that of company to keep. that eventually backfired on her much like everything else up until then and subin soon found herself being evicted from the little apartment she called home. with no where or anyone to go to in seoul, subin had no choice but to face the anger from her parents when she wound back up on their doorstep with no evidence that she'd been in school at all. subin had lost a great deal of her parents' trust after that, barely getting a word from her father and only managing to hear her mother's voice when she was comparing her to the successful children of the women she worked with or subin's two younger sisters. in order to make parents treat her like their child again and not some freeloading stranger in their home, subin decided that she was going to go to school again. she'd ruined her chances with seoul national university much to her parents' dismay, but yonsei university had shown a considerable amount of interest in her before so she thought she'd try her luck there. it wasn't easy to convince her parents that she was completely serious about college nor was it easy to explain to them that she was going to major in what she wanted and that was not international business, but after being accepted to yonsei and visiting with her parents, she was finally able to see them genuinely satisfied with her after months of bitter smiles.

after a successful year at yonsei, subin quickly realized the benefits that came with being a part of a "sisterhood" and decided to join a sorority her sophomore year. if she was honest, none of them truly seemed appealing to her but she figured the girls of sigma kappa would be the least worried about whether she was really the daughter of two doctors like she'd lead them to believe.
